Radtke And Associates, Inc. was contacted by the Northwest Indiana Habitat for Humanity organization, Gary, Indiana. The organization planned construction for a number of single family homes and needed assistance for completing surveys and site designs for each of these facilities. There were 20 single family home sites developed and each required a lot survey and design of storm water runoff. Radtke And Associates, Inc. completed this project rapidly and received all approvals necessary.
The organization had a number of homes that were constructed and a staff member from Radtke And Associates, Inc. helped in the construction of one of these homes. The home was constructed in one day after the footing foundation work was completed.
Investment Properties, Porter, Indiana
Mineral Springs Subdivision
Mineral Springs Subdivision is located in the Town of Porter in Northwest Indiana. This subdivision was designed to accommodate only duplex buildings on a very limited space. The Town of Porter has strict requirements of retention of storm water and a unique design for storm water retention was completed. This included three different pond areas with the use of storm tech pipe to distribute the water into the sand; therefore, eliminating any flow off of the subdivision. There were a number of variances necessary for the building placements on each lot and Radtke And Associates, Inc. worked with the town and developer to develop a PUD to accommodate this development. Due to the economy, the PUD is in the process of being changed to accompany single family homes which will decrease the density of this subdivision in half. The developer is working with the town to install a bike path along the two streets. This bike path will be installed on private property with an easement for each lot. This is being done to accompany a bike path master plan that the town is involved in.
